Adolphus Slade

Admiral Sir Adolphus Slade CB (1804 – 13 November 1877) was a British admiral who became an admiral in the Ottoman Navy.

[1] While in Ottoman service he was known as Mushaver (Inspector) Pasha[2] He was the fifth son of General Sir John Slade.

Slade, who has been described as "one of the best nineteenth-century writers on the Middle East",[5] wrote a number of books:[6]
