On January 24, 2019, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission announced that it was constructing a new $150 million 193,000-square-foot hospital in Overland Park, Kansas with 85 beds.
[5][better source needed] Rocks had to be broken at the 14.5-acre site of the hospital, all total 12,000 cubic yards were removed.
[8][9] It was built next to AdventHealth South Overland Park ER and a medical office building which were constructed in 2017.
[9][10] On October 7, 2021, AdventHealth South Overland Park began admitting patients.
[14] In 2023, it started robotic surgery for knee replacement which allows patients to recover quicker.
