The starry owlet-nightjar (Aegotheles tatei), also known as the spangled owlet-nightjar, is a species of bird in the family Aegothelidae.
Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
It is threatened by habitat loss.
It was previously considered a subspecies of Feline owlet-nightjar[2].
Due to phylogenetic data confirmation[3] and morphological differences, it has been treated as a separate species, and given the common name "Starry" based on its plumage [4] This Aegotheliformes-related article is a stub.
