Aigburth (Liverpool ward)

A report of the Local Government Boundary Commission for England published in November 1978 set out proposals for changes to the wards of Liverpool City Council, maintaining the number of councillors at 99 representing 33 wards.

The ward contains Otterspool Promenade, Aigburth railway station, and St Margaret's Church of England Academy.

Herbert Mylrea Allen was appointed by the Council as Councillor for the Aigburth ward on 6 December 1939 under the Local Elections and Register of Electors (Temporary Provisions) Act 1939.

Caused by the resignation of Councillor Arthur Donald Dennis (Liberal, elected at the by-election of 3 March 1936).

By-election caused by the election as an alderman of Councillor Henry Morley Miller (Conservative) on 10 November 1924.
