Aigle District

Aigle has an area, as of 2009[update], of 434.99 square kilometers (167.95 sq mi).

[2] Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks French (28,451 or 80.7%), with German being second most common (1,268 or 3.6%) and Portuguese being third (884 or 2.5%).

In the federal election, a total of 8,604 votes were cast, and the voter turnout was 42.2%.

In the Vaud cantonal school system, two years of non-obligatory pre-school are provided by the political districts.
