As a senior in 2008–09, he averaged 29.2 points per game for head coach Gaston Collins as Southern Lee finished the season with a 20–7 record.
[2] In his freshman season at Rhode Island, Richmond was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team after averaging 8.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 36 games.
He subsequently finished his career ranked seventh on the all-time NCAA Three-Point Field Goals Made list with 416.

In October 2016, Richmond joined Malaysian club NS Matrix for the Seri Mutiara Champions Cup.
