Akhtar Hassan Khan Gorchani

Akhtar Hassan Khan Gorchani (born 3 August 1956) is a Pakistani diplomat, politician, and former intelligence official.

As Assistant Superintendent of Police, he was posted at Tank, Layyah, Jhang, and Wazirabad.

In 2003 he joined Pakistan's delegation to the United Nations peace mission in Kosovo.

[2][3] Soon afterwards, he became Minister for Community Affairs at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington D.C.[4] He is author of "The Sindh Police, brief history & developments" published by Oxford University Press in 2007.

He received 20,074 votes and was defeated by Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari, a candidate of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
