Al-Mazar al-Shamali

Located 15 km south-west of Irbid it has a population of approximately 20,000 people and the major familys (tribes or clans) is Al-Jarrah and Al-Shorman.

The region consists of a series of mountain ranges that reach approximately 780 meters above the sea level.

Characteristics for the region is the prevalence of forests extending to hundreds of kilometers and consisting of a variety of trees such as aak, pistacia and pine.

Olives are one of the most important products in the region in addition to grapes.
