Alan C. Burton MBE (April 18, 1904 – June 27, 1979) was an English-born Canadian physicist.
At the age of 23, he came to Canada and studied physics as a graduate student at the University of Toronto, receiving his PhD in 1932.
During World War II, Burton designed protective clothing for the Canadian military.
[3] He joined the University of Western Ontario after the war, where he founded the Department of Biophysics, leading it from 1948 to 1970.
