[2] After the 2003 season, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays selected Zumwalt from the Braves in the Rule 5 draft.

After the 2004 season, the Braves traded Zumwalt and José Capellán to the Milwaukee Brewers for Dan Kolb.

[4] After his playing career, Zumwalt became a scout, and worked for the Kansas City Royals as their director of hitting performance and player development.

[5] On May 16, 2022, the Royals promoted Zumwalt to their major league coaching staff as their Senior Director of Hitting Performance, Major League hitting coach, replacing Terry Bradshaw.
