[1] Her third, Daylily Called It a Dangerous Moment, won the Balcones Poetry Prize,[2] and was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize,[3] and UNT Rilke Poetry Prize,[4] and was named one of the ten best books of poetry in 2017 by The New York Times.
[5] Her second, It was a terrible cloud at twilight, won the Lena-Miles Wever Todd Prize.
[12] She has received fellowships from MacDowell,[13] Yaddo,[14] and the Vermont Studio Center,[15] as well as a Creative Renewal Fellowship for the Arts from the Indianapolis Council for the Arts,[16] and a Barbara Deming Award.
[17] She is the current Poet-in-Residence at Butler University, and teaches in their undergraduate[15] and MFA programs.
[18] Alessandra Lynch is married to the poet Chris Forhan, and they live in Indianapolis with their sons.
