He is the Professor of Indigenous Genomics at Telethon Kids Institute and The Australian National University (ANU) and the director of the National Centre of Indigenous Genomics at the ANU.
He had family connections to Nowra, Wreck Bay and Wallaga Lake on the far south coast of NSW.
[2] Alex Brown received his bachelor's degree from University of Newcastle.
[3] He completed his PhD at University of Queensland, where his thesis focused on the psychosocial determinants of coronary heart disease in indigenous men.
[7] In 2010 he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
