Alex Treves

Alessandro Emanuele "Alex" Treves (January 14, 1929 – December 12, 2020)[1] was an Italian-born American Olympic fencer.

[2] Treves was born in Torino, Italy, and was Jewish.

[2][7] He fenced for Rutgers University (class of 1950), and won the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) saber title in both 1949 and 1950.

[2][5] He won three Amateur Fencers League of America (AFLA) National Championships in team sabre; in 1952, 1955, and 1956.

[2][5] In 2000, Treves was elected to the Rutgers Sports Hall of Fame.
