Alexander Brown (9 February 1851 – 28 March 1926) was an Australian politician.
He married Mary Ellen Ribbands in August 1872 and they had three daughters and six sons.
Brown was the member for Newcastle in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from February 1889 to June 1891, elected as a Protectionist.
In August 1892 he was appointed to the New South Wales Legislative Council, where he remained until his death in East Maitland.
He was survived by his second wife, Edith Mary Adams, whom he married in March 1920, and five sons and three daughters from his first marriage.
