Lt Col Alexander Dron Stewart IMS CIE FRSE FRCPE FRCSE MID LLD (1883–1969) was a 20th-century Scottish physician and public health expert associated with India.
[2] He was born in Blairgowrie in Perthshire on 22 June 1883, the son of William Stewart.
He was educated at the High School of Dundee[3] and studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh graduating with an MB ChB in 1906.
[4] In the First World War he served as a surgeon in Gallipoli, Salonika and Mesopotamia.
[7][8] In 1938 he was elected to the Aesculapian Club of Edinburgh and from 1949-55 served as honorary secretary.
