Alexander Ramati (December 20, 1921 – February 18, 2006), born David Solomonovich Grinberg,[1] was a Polish writer and film director.
Alexander Ramati was born in Brest, Belarus, then part of Poland, into a Jewish family.
He entered Assisi with the Allied forces in June 1944, and there he first met Rufino Niccacci.
In 1985 he wrote And the Violins Stopped Playing: A Story of the Gypsy Holocaust, which he also adapted to a movie, in 1988.
