Alexandre de Thy

Alexandre de Thy[Note 1] was a French Navy officer.

[2] Thy joined the Navy as a Garde-Marine on 8 January 1751.

[2] In 1733, he was made a Knight in the Order of Saint Louis.

[3] He commanded the 74-gun Citoyen in the Squadron under De Grasse,[4] and took part in the Battle of the Saintes,[2] where he was wounded.

[1][3] The year after, De Thy expressed strong reservations about Buor's treaty of naval tactics.
