Alexey Falkin

[1] In the second case, near the end of the year, Falkin picked up a hitchhiking young teacher from Beryozovsky in his car, agreeing to drive her to her home in exchange for 400 rubles.

[3] After offering to have sex with her to pay for the fare, since he believed the woman didn't have the necessary amount of money on her, and after his advances were refused, Falkin slammed her head into the car window, dragged her into the back seat and raped her.

Not long after, Falkin found himself a new girlfriend and got a job as a turner at a factory, but continued to prowl the city in search of new victims.

[3] Acting on impulse, Falkin attacked her while she was talking on the phone, grabbing Vakhrusheva by the neck and holding up a knife to it, draggin her to a nearby abandoned basement, where he proceeded to violate her on the stairs.

Nearly all residents from the area went out to search for any trace of the missing woman, scouring through backyards, porches, parks, manholes and attics.

Caught red-handed, Falkin immediately admitted to all of his crimes and offered to help locate Vakhrusheva's burial site, but claimed to be mentally ill and unable to control his urges.

He was later examined by Professor Alexander Thostov, from the Department of Neuro and Pathopsychology of the Moscow State University, and he ascertained that Falkin was sane.
