Alfred R. Loeblich Jr

He was married to Helen Niña Tappan Loeblich and the two co-authored a number of important works on the Foraminifera and related organisms.

Alfred R. Loeblich Jr was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on August 15, 1914, and spent his early life in Kansas City, Missouri.

[4] In 1984 Loeblich was made an Honorary Member of the SEPM (Society for Sedimentary Geology).

[5] In 1987 the AASG (Association of American State Geologists) awarded him the Raymond C. Moore Medal for Excellence in Paleontology.

[6] Loeblich was a Fellow of the Geological Society of America, and was described after his death as "one of the giants [of] micropaleontology.
