All on My Mind

The song was first written by Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid, the songwriting duo behind top-hit "Shape of You".

Erik Eger, McDaid's manager, presented the demo version of the song to Gregg Nadel, Elektra Records president.

Nadel, who's in charge of Sheeran's U.S. marketing, then pitched it to Anderson East, who adapted it with his longtime collaborator Aaron Raitiere.

"[4] The song was nominated at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in the Best American Roots Performance category, but lost to Brandi Carlile's "The Joke.

Marching along with stabs of strings and swells of electric piano, 'All on My Mind' is a showcase for East’s rugged, raspy vocals as he ponders his obsession with a rule-breaking woman.
