Aloysius P. Kelley

Kelley, from Carlisle, Pennsylvania,[2] graduated from St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia.

[4] Kelley held positions teaching at St. Joseph's Preparatory School and the University of Pennsylvania, then held several positions at Georgetown University including vice president of academic affairs.

[5] Kelley was inaugurated as president of Fairfield University in September 1979.

[citation needed] The campus was transformed by the construction of 14 new buildings and the renovation of 12 others.

[7] In 2004, Fairfield established the "Aloysius P. Kelley, S.J., Chair in Catholic Studies", a professorship to honor his service to the university.
