Altino (Abruzzese: Davëdìnë) is a comune and town in the province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region of southern Italy.
Altino is located on a rocky spur overlooking the valley of the Aventino river, at the foot of Monte Calvario.
At 345 m above sea level Altino dominates a wide expanse of valley, rich of farms and orchards in the lower part, of vineyards and olive trees in the hilly area It is 44 km from Chieti and 158 km from L'Aquila.
Legend has it that Altino was founded in 452 by Venetian refugees fleeing from Attila, who had burned the Roman military port in Altinum (today Quarto d'Altino).
The town suffered looting and raids by brigands in the late days of Kingdom of Two Sicilies (mid/late-19th century).
