Andiast ([anˈdɪ̯aʃt]ⓘ) is a former municipality in the Surselva Region in the Swiss canton of Graubünden.
The area around Andiast was already inhabited in the Stone Age, as was confirmed by an archaeological dig in 1962.
It was influenced by the Reformation, and in contrast to its parent parish, Andiast stayed Catholic.
The description of the municipal coat of arms is Gules St. Julitta clad Or holding a downpointed sword Argent handled of the second leading a child.
Of the rest of the land, 1.7% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (29.1%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).
[7] It consists of the linear village of Andiast at an elevation of 1,185 m (3,888 ft) on the southern face of the Tödi mountain chain.
[10] The age distribution, as of 2000[update], in Andiast is; 35 children or 15.1% of the population are between 0 and 9 years old and 30 teenagers or 12.9% are between 10 and 19.
