From May 2013 to April 2016, he served as Commandant-General of the RAF Regiment.
On 15 August 1985, the then Aircraftman Hall was commissioned in the Security Branch of the Royal Air Force as an acting pilot officer.
[4] From 1 June and 20 December 1995, he saw active service in the former Republic of Yugoslavia as part of the NATO bombing campaign,[5] for which he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire "in recognition of [his] gallant and distinguished service".

[8][9] He then attended the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom based in Shrivenham.
