He then competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and lost against bronze medalist Christophe Gagliano in repechage, ending on 7th place.
He won silver medal at the 1997 World Military Judo Championship in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
He also won bronze medal in -71 kg at the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand.
He won another bronze medal in -71 kg at the 2000 Asian Judo Championships in Osaka, Japan.
In the end of 2019 he started working with Slovenian judokas in Judo Club Bežigrad.
