Andriy Zholdak (Ukrainian: Андрій Жолдак, born 18 November 1962) is a Ukrainian theatre director.
[2] In 2006 Zholdak moved to Germany and worked at Theater Oberhausen, Berliner Festspiele and Vienna Festival.
Controversy In October 2024 Zholdak worked as a guest director for the National Opera & Ballet in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The Dutch National Opera acknowledges that the controversial guest director engaged in inappropriate behavior during the production of the opera *Fidelio*.
Following a report in *Het Parool*, the opera company detailed Zholdak’s conduct, citing impulsive, unreasonable, and intimidating behavior, including physical contact during rehearsals without prior consent, as well as unscripted scenes of sexual nature.
