Andrzej Bryl (30 June 1957 – 24 February 2020) was a Polish doctor of social sciences, an international expert in the field of close combat, creator of the BAS-3 combat system and president of the ITF Polish Federation of Taekwondo.

[2] Bryl was born in Cybinka and graduated from the Academy of Physical Education in Wrocław (1979) and the Lomonosov Moscow State University (1985).

[5] In 1985, Bryl created the BAS-3 close combat system for special units of the army and sub-units of the anti-terrorist police.

[9] In 1992, Bryl founded the first Central and Eastern Europe professional Centre for Special Training (CST) for uniformed services and civilian security agencies.

[13] In 2010, together with former members of the Polish special forces, he conducted training for the bodyguards of the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
