[3][4] Anghel Crețeanu was born on 5 April 1910 in Galați, Romania, starting to play football at local club, DVA in the regional league.
[1] In 1933 he went to play for Juventus București, making his Divizia A debut under coach Ladislau Csillag on 17 September in a 3–1 away win over Ripensia Timișoara.
[1][2] In the following two years he appeared regularly for the team, managing to score the only goal of his career from a penalty kick on 9 November 1935 in a 2–2 with Unirea Tricolor București.
[1][10][11] Anghel Crețeanu played six games at international level for Romania, making his debut on 30 December 1934 under coach Alexandru Săvulescu who used him as a starter but replaced him after 15 minutes with Carol Burdan in a 3–2 away victory with Bulgaria at the 1934–35 Balkan Cup.
[12] Anghel Crețeanu wrote one volume about football, published in 1972 called "20 de ani în urmărirea balonului rotund" (20 years in pursuit of the round balloon).
