[1][3][4][5][6][7] Dolphin was educated at the University of Oxford, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry in 1973, and the Institute of Psychiatry at King's College London where she was awarded a PhD in 1977[8] for research on noradrenaline receptors.
Dolphin is a leader in the field of neuronal voltage-gated calcium channels.
[9][10] Before working at UCL, Dolphin held appointments at the Collège de France, Yale University, the National Institute for Medical Research, St George's, University of London and the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine.
