Anthene (Ancient Greek: Ἀνθήνη),[1] or Anthana (Ἀνθάνα),[2] or Athene (Ἀθήνη),[3] was a town in Cynuria, originally inhabited by the Aeginetans, and mentioned by Thucydides along with Thyrea, as the two chief places in Cynuria.
