Antoine Casavant

Antoine Casavant (October 20, 1826 – July 18, 1892) was a farmer and political figure in Quebec.

He represented Bagot in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1881 to 1886 as a Conservative.

He was born in Saint-Hyacinthe, Lower Canada, the son of Antoine Casavant dit Ladébauche and Marie Benoît, and was educated at the Séminaire de Saint-Hyacinthe.

Casavant served as a captain in the militia, a justice of the peace and a commissioner for the trial of minor causes.

He ran unsuccessfully for the Saint-Hyacinthe seat in the Quebec assembly in 1878 and 1879.
