Archon (butterfly)

See text Archon is a genus of Palaearctic swallowtail butterflies in the subfamily Parnassiinae.

[1][2][3][4] Traditionally, only two species have been recognized: Archon apollinus and Archon apollinaris.

[2] Recent studies, however, have given specific status to a third taxon, Archon bostanchii,[3][5][6] and suggested that further subspecies could warrant recognition as species.

[6] The genus consists of the following species:[3][5][6] Species from this genus feed on Aristolochia species.
