The racial makeup of the township was 71.91% White, 0.28% African American, 0.58% Native American, 0.86% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 18.21% from other races, and 8.14% from two or more races.

There were 1,128 households, out of which 37.00% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.71% were married couples living together, 13.12% had a female householder with no spouse present, and 29.88% were non-families.

21.70% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.60% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
