Argo is a city in Jefferson and St. Clair counties, Alabama, United States.
[5] As of the 2020 United States census, there were 4,368 people, 1,348 households, and 1,146 families residing in the city.
At the 2010 census, there were 4,071 people, 1,393 households, and 583 families living in the city.
The racial makeup of the city was 94.1% White, 3.6% Black or African American, 0.4% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, and 1.3% from two or more races.
Of the 1,393 households 41.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.3% were married couples living together, 8.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.1% were non-families.
At the 2000 census, there were 1,780 people, 664 households, and 501 families living in the city.
