Arlene Dávila (born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico) is an American professor of Latino/a Studies.
[2] She is the founding director of The Latinx Project, and has written eight books and many articles on issues ranging from depictions of public images of Latinos, marketing to Latinos, cultural politics in Puerto Rico, and Latinization of the United States.
Her research focuses on race and ethnicity, media studies, and Puerto Rican national identities.
Davila holds the title of Professor of Anthropology, American Studies and Social and Cultural Analysis at New York University.
Her primary focus and research has been on Latino experiences in the United States and their representation in the media.
