[1] From 1978 to 1986 Meier was a member of the Landtag of Liechtenstein as a member of the Progressive Citizens' Party, and he was the Vice president of the Landtag of Liechtenstein from 1982 to 1986.
During this time, he was a member of the finance, state, and foreign affairs committee.
[3] Meier married Hildegard Marxer (born 14 January 1949) on 11 July 1974 and they had two children together.
[1] He died on 20 March 1999 in Feldkirch, aged 57 years old.
