[2] He graduated from McKinley High School in Cedar Rapids in 1946.
[2] [4] He joined the practice of Barnes, Schlegel and McGiverin from 1956 to 1965.
[2][4] He was appointed as an Associate Justice to the Iowa Supreme Court in 1978 by Governor Robert D. Ray.
[4] He married Mary Joan Kuntz on April 20, 1951 in Iowa City.
