Arthur Ingram Aston

Sir Arthur Ingram Aston GCB (23 December 1798[1] – 5 May 1859) was an English diplomat.

Harriet Ingram-Shepherd, fourth daughter of Charles Ingram, 9th Viscount of Irvine.

[6] Aston served at the British embassies in Vienna in 1819 and in Rio de Janeiro in 1826.

He was appointed secretary of the British embassy in Paris in 1833 and became envoy-extraordinary and plenipotentiary at Madrid from 1839 to 1843.

[5] He was created a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath (GCB) upon returning to England in 1843.
