Arthur Sperry Pearse (March 15, 1877 – December 11, 1956) was a botanist and zoologist from the United States.
He was born at a Pawnee people reserve in Crete, Nebraska, where his parents had a commercial outpost.
Pearse received his Ph.D. in zoology from Harvard University in 1908, with a dissertation entitled "The Reaction of Amphibians to Light".
Here he founded Ecological Monographs, that was the first science journal from the Duke University Press.
He later play a significant role in the creation of the Marine Laboratory in Beaufort, North Carolina, where he was the Director from 1938 to 1945.
