Arthur V. Evans is an American entomologist and author, focusing on beetle taxonomy.
[1] Evans has written several books about animals and species, which are currently held in over 7,444 total libraries worldwide.
[2] One of his books, Beetles of Eastern North America, was published by Princeton University Press and was positively reviewed.
[3] Evans grew up in the Antelope Valley just north of Los Angeles and attended Palmdale High School, graduating in 1975.
[4] In 2000, he stepped down after 10 years[4] as Director of the Insect Zoo at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, moving to Virginia, where he became a Research Associate of the Smithsonian Institution[1] He co-hosted the 1998 television series Bug City.
