Artur Immisch

After graduating from high school, he moved to the University of Jena in 1921 to study Jurisprudence and National economics at his father's request.

His work as a concert pianist took him to several large cities in Germany, especially to Dresden, where Immisch settled in the early 1930s.

A scoliosis, which was caused by an accident during gymnastics lessons at the age of thirteen and which, according to his sister, Immisch had to "bear with difficulty throughout his life", saved him from a wartime deployment.

After the end of the war, the Dresden Academy of Music and Theater renewed the offer to appoint him as lecturer at its institute.

[1][2] Immisch left behind a qualitatively considerable compositional legacy, which is mainly based on chamber music works.
