Asaad al-Shaibani

Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani (Arabic: أسعد حسن الشيباني, romanized: Asʿad Ḥasan al-Shaybānī) is a Syrian politician who serves as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the Syrian Transitional Government since 21 December 2024 under Prime Minister Mohammed al-Bashir, following the fall of the Assad regime.

[1] Al-Shaibani comes from an Arab family belonging to the Banu Shayban tribe from the eastern countryside of al-Hasakah Governorate.

[4][3] He earned a master's degree in Political Science and International Relations from Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University in 2022 and a PhD in the same field in 2024.

[2] He is also completing the final stage of an MBA program from an American university.

Before his current role, he participated in founding the Syrian Salvation Government and established its Political Affairs Administration and served as its head, a role in which he engaged with representatives from the United Nations, major international organizations, and diplomatic officials.
