Ashford Carbonell

The village lies 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south of the market town of Ludlow, on the eastern side of the River Teme, facing the smaller Ashford Bowdler.

[3] Ashford Carbonell formed part of the hundred of Culvestan, which in the 12th century became Munslow.

Huntington was a manor mentioned (separately to Ashford Carbonell) in the Domesday Book (1086).

[2] Stretton Reeve (1907-1981), Bishop of Lichfield, lived in retirement at Huntington Green.

[4] The parish church, dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene,[5] is Norman in origin.
