Ashti, Beed

The town of Ashti came to prominence around the 16th century when it was awarded to the Dhonde dynasty as a "jagir".

Under the Dhonde dynasty, the barren and rocky land of Ashti was converted to a more fertile place and a trade center that it is today.

The Dudhna plays a significant role in supporting agriculture in the region, with its flow being largely seasonal and dependent on monsoon rains.

A notable structure on the river is the Dudhna Dam, situated in the Parbhani district, which is primarily used for irrigation and water supply.
