Assad Kotaite (Arabic: أسعد قطيط) (November 6, 1924 - February 27, 2014), was a Lebanese politician who served as Secretary-General and Council President of the International Civil Aviation Organization from 1976 to 2006.
In 1948, he graduated from Saint Joseph University (Université Saint-Joseph) in Beirut, Lebanon.
Returning to Lebanon in 1953, Kotaite accepted the post of Chief of Legal Services for International Agreements and External Relations at the Lebanese Directorate of Civil Aviation.
From 1963 to 1964, he served as Chief of Administrative Services for the Lebanese Directorate-General of Transport.
He had lived in Montreal, where the ICAO headquarters are located since beginning his service with the organization,
