Asya Pereltsvaig (Russian: Ася Перельцвайг; born 1972 in Leningrad, USSR) is a Russian-American linguist, writer, and educator.
[1][2][3] Pereltsvaig has a PhD in Linguistics from McGill University in 2001, with a dissertation entitled, "On the nature of intra-clausal relations: a study of copular sentences in Russian and Italian.
[5][6] She has served as an academic coordinator for the Esperanto society, ESF.
[7] Her research interests are theoretical syntax, cross-linguistic typology, Slavic linguistics, and historical linguistics.
She is an independent scholar whose recent books include: The Indo-European Controversy: Facts and Fallacies in Historical Linguistics (with Martin Lewis)[8] and Languages of the World: An Introduction.
