Atlanta is a village in Winn Parish, Louisiana, United States.
The second tornado was less destructive, destroying several churches, homes, and businesses.
It was sent to renowned American meteorite tracker Harvey H. Nininger.
[9] According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km2), all land.
As of the census[11] of 2000, there were 150 people, 57 households, and 42 families residing in the village.
21.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
There were 15.4% of families and 15.1% of the population living below the poverty line, including 12.5% of under eighteens and none of those over 64.
Postal Service maintains the Atlanta Post Office.
[18] Louisiana industrialist and inventor William Edenborn maintained the Emden plantation southwest of Atlanta, where he grew peanuts, cotton, and silkworms.
