[2] The AVP endorsed candidates in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia at the 2013 federal election.

The party also contested the 2014 special Senate election in Western Australia, receiving 0.08% of the vote.

Cavanough resigned as president and from the party on 28 February 2015.

The AVP was deregistered by the AEC on 23 July 2015 after failing to provide it had the 500 members required for registration.
