Avner Netanyahu

Avner is a brother to Yair, and a half-brother to Noa Roth (who was born to his father from his previous marriage to Miki Haran).

[1][2] During most of his father's first term of office (1996–1999), he lived with his brother Yair with his mother's parents, Chava and Shmuel Ben-Artzi.

[6] Before his enlistment, there was rumours that he would serve in the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, but Netanyahu wanted more significant service.

[8] In May 2022, The Jerusalem Post reported that Netanyahu was admitted into University of Oxford to study for a master's degree in archaeology.

In August 2019, the court issued a restraining order against Cohen from Avner Netanyahu in accordance with the Prevention of Threatening Harassment Law, until February 2020.

[13] In January 2022, it was discovered by the Calcalist newspaper that the Israel Police used Pegasus spyware to remotely hack, without a search warrant, the phones of Israeli citizens who are not criminals or suspects.

The security of Avner and Yair, which costs NIS 300,000 per month,[20] was removed in 2021, half a year after the end of Netanyahu's term as Prime Minister, according to the opinion of the Shin Bet, the Mossad, the police and the National Security Council of Israel.

[22] On July 17, 2024, at the request of the nonprofit organization Hatzlaha, it was revealed that the annual cost of the security of Avner Netanyahu in the years 2018–2020 was between 2.3 and 3.5 million shekels.
