Azmi Mahafzah is the Jordanian Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

[1][2] Mahafzah holds a Doctor of Medicine (1977) from the University of Damascus and a Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology and Immunology (1984) from the American University of Beirut.

[3][4] Since 1984, Mahafzah has worked as a lecturer and since 2009 as professor at the University of Jordan.

Additionally, he held several positions at Jordan University Hospital from 1989 until 2013.

[3] In June 2018, he was appointed Minister of Education and additionally, he became Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in October.
